HOW WE GOT OUR NAME

In the Bible, Tabitha was known for her good works and acts of charity. She was a generous person who sewed for others and gave to the needy. She was also called a disciple of Jesus, that is, a follower, one who learned from him, part of the inner circle in the early church. She was beloved by those in need for whom she cared. And when she died, she was raised to new life by the Apostle Peter, through the power of the Holy Spirit. A truly fitting namesake for our sober home for women…
